(Senior Pastor, Crown Lane, Bartle, Preston, Lancashire)
My name is Donavan Lurrie and I am originally from Harare, Zimbabwe. I count being brought up in a Christian family, along with my two sisters and two brothers, a real privilege. But I'm even more thankful for the day that I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Saviour.
As a teenager I enjoyed playing sports at a competitive level, serving in the leadership of the Zimbabwe Association of Baptist Youth and leading a vibrant Youth Fellowship in my home church.
When I left school I trained and worked as an electrical technician and, when time permitted, got involved in missions with African Enterprises. In 1997 I heard and obeyed the call of God to full-time service. This led me to Bible College in Scotland where God did a deeper work in my heart and gave me a real burden and clear direction to minister here in the UK.
I served the Lord as an Evangelist for 9 years before receiving a call in 2007 to be the Pastor at Crown Lane and was ordained in 2008.
I count it a great privilege to serve the Lord and desire to see the transforming power of the Gospel at work in lives and for God's people to grow in their walk and work for the Lord.
1Thess 5:24 The one who calls you is faithful and He will do it.
