Donavan Lurrie

(Senior Pastor, Crown Lane, Bartle, Preston, Lancashire) My name is Donavan Lurrie and I am originally from Harare, Zimbabwe. I count being brought up in a Christian family along with my two sisters and two brothers a real privilege. But I'm even more thankful for the day that I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Saviour. As a teenager I enjoyed playing sports at a competitive level, serving in the leadership of the Zimbabwe Association of Baptist Youth and leading a vibrant Youth Fellowship in my home church. When I left school I trained and worked as an electrical technician and when time permitted got involved in missions with African Enterprises. In 1997 I heard and obeyed the call of God to full time service. This led me to Bible College in Scotland where God did a deeper work in my heart and gave me a real burden and clear direction to minister here in the UK. I served the Lord as an Evangelist for 9 years before receiving a call in 2007 to be the Pastor at Crown Lane and was ordained in 2008.
I count it a great privilege to serve the Lord and 1Thess 5:24 The one who calls you is faithful and He will do it. |
desire to see the transforming power of the Gospel at work in lives and for God's people to grow in their walk and work for the Lord.
