Andy Belshaw

(Senior Pastor, Kirkham, Lancashire)

Andrew invited Jesus into his life at 18 years of age. This was right in the middle of the punk rock era. 'My chains fell off, my heart was free' really was appropriate! God transformed him.
He has been married to Elizabeth now for sixteen years and has three lovely children, Daniel Rebecca and Joshua. He has never had a full night's sleep since!

For nine years he pastored Dundonald Free Methodist Church, establishing youth groups and adult ministries. The highlight of his first three years of ministry was being involved in a church plant in Newtownards.

Andrew writes, "Being in the ministry, I am asked what my vision is. I long to see Christians becoming effective disciples. It is wonderful to see individuals deploying gifts in the church and in their community. I long to see the non-christian reached through the friendships each Christian makes, but I long to see God move by His Holy Spirit in transforming power."
Andrew's expectation for Cornerstone is to see God revealing His power through the church's obedience to Him. As Oswald Chambers writes: 'Keep your life so constant in its contact with God that His surprising power may break out on the right and on the left. Always be in a state of expectancy, and see you leave room for God to come in as He likes.'
